Dogs And Power And A Pandemic…

Dogs And Power And A Pandemic…

From the desk of Angela, our Chief Tail Wagger:

Well here we are at the beginning of August. Most of us thought things would be so much better by now. On top of everything else, we are on day 2 of a power outage. I’m trying my best to keep my spirits up—fortunately I’m surrounded by my loving personal pup and all the dogs here at Wag Central, who keep me happy.

As the self-appointed General Contractor during the construction of Wag Central, I opted not to have a generator installed, mostly because of cost and the seemingly low odds that the power would go out (and stay out). We’re also located in Stratford, a town notoriously quick at restoring power. So far the odds have been in our favor. We recently celebrated three years in business, and were reminded that an expensive generator would just be sitting around sad and lonely. I’m obviously reflecting on that now and will revisit my decision when things are back to normal.

Luckily it’s summer, the building and floors are cool because of the construction, and even though we’re not using our regular pool, the kiddie pools are out and the pups are having fun. We’ll make up for canceled grooming appointments, missed swims and Netflix next week. At the end of the day, this really isn’t a big deal, but doggone, can it be over? Thanks to all of our awesome clients for your love and support, and for having such great dogs with unending inspiration and tail wags. They ensure that nobody (especially me) ever really has a bad day.
